Please Note:

At Whirinaki Whare Taonga, we are committed to engaging and exciting learning opportunities for our Tamariki. Through educational packages, we can offer arts experiences that supplement learning inside the classroom, based on your curriculum requirements.

Encouraging and teaching Tamariki the arts is important to what we do and something we very much enjoy. Unfortunately, due to funding cuts from the Ministry of Education, we are currently unable to take any education bookings until the beginning of Term One 2023. In Term One we have an exciting programme aimed at children.

SECONDARY SCHOOL VISITS

We would like to welcome you to visit spontaneously or by booking through our Learning Programmes Specialist. For larger groups we encourage you to book your visit to ensure there is plenty of room in the gallery spaces. Your visits may be student or teacher led.

We also offer visits led by our Learning Programmes Specialist. These visits need to be booked in advance. We have an exciting range of exhibitions available throughout the year and will customise a programme especially for your class and students. Not only do our programmes reflect exciting artworks, we also work hard to link them to the New Zealand curriculum, so that they are sure to experience engagement and enrichment.

The Learning Programmes Specialist would like to work with you to ensure your visit has strong links with your classroom learning.

We offer a range of exhibitions that are relevant to a range of subjects including:

DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES
PHOTOGRAPHY
FINE ARTS
APPLIED ARTS
FASHION
HISTORY
ENGLISH

INTEGRATED STUDIES

The Learning Programmes Specialist is available to meet with teachers to plan your visit. This will include a complimentary coffee.

There is NO cost for our education classes.
